We the undersigned petition Mole Valley District Council to Not remove Preston Farm nor the green belt land bound by Rectory Lane & Guildford Road, Great & Little Bookham, from the green belt, nor allow this land to be developed. More details
We ask MVDC to not remove these pieces of land from the green belt for development as they are an important wildlife corridor between the Surrey Hills and Bookham Commons, serve important green belt purposes to not allow urban sprawl between Great and Little Bookham, and Little Bookham and Effingham, serve as a soak away for surface water running north, all other brownfield sites have not been exhausted, and the Bookhams' cannot facilitate such large new developments with the already allowed development taking place along the same access road in Effingham.

Additional information about this rejection:
The release of Green Belt land is a matter that will be considered as part of the Local Plan, which we anticipate will be published in draft in June 2019 for public consultation. Until such time as the draft Plan is published, no decisions will have been made on whether or where to release greenfield sites. If land in Bookham (or indeed anywhere else in the District) is proposed for development, there will be an opportunity to comment as part of the public consultation. The petition is therefore premature in advance of the draft Local Plan; and would duplicate the consultation exercise that forms part of the consultation.
